I was born in 1962 in Bergen, Norway. I have lived most of my life on the west coast of Norway in a little town called Foerde. The nature around me is gorgeous with forest, mountains, fjords, marshes and so on. The most fantastic of all though, are my two boys and my little girl who have been and still are my spirit and "the joy of my life"! Of course - I cant forget my adorable girlfriend, with whom I share much of my time. I have been playing in the forest and the mountains since I was a little child. My great parents were used to kids who stayed out all day - that was the usual thing to do in our spare time. My first night alone in a tent, took place when I was 12 years old. I stayed out for three days and since then I have spent a lot of time in the countryside in all its seasons.

My prime joy has always been to be able to observe the greatness of nature. In my way, share in natures course. Be an observer to the unique and wonderful things that happen in the countryside. To see, smell, listen, taste, feel and be part of it! If I can find peace and be as invisible to the natures inhabitants as possible - then I have had a wonderful time. Photography for me, is just a way to share some of my moments of joy. If people are able to take part of some of my adventures and sensuality - I have succeeded. If they are inspired to observe by themselves the great moments that nature can offer, then it's even better. Some people and books have been significant for me. It's difficult to mention just a few, because there are others worth mentioning too. The books "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau and "Et aar i skogen" by Joern Boehmer Olsen have to be mentioned. I can't talk about my love for the creation of nature without mentioning Dagfinn Kolberg. In the past he was like a mentor to me, introducing me to a new way of experiencing the countryside and all the life in it. I will be forever grateful to him. To mention photographers who are special to me is very difficult. There are a lot of extremely good photographers around the world, but some of the most outstanding are; Anders Geidemark, Jim Brandenburg, Joern Boehmer Olsen, Rolf Soerensen, Paal Hermansen, Terje Hellesoe, Art Wolfe, Baard Loeken and Asle Hjellbrekke. |
